Private Practice Mentoring

Private and personalized sessions intended to support mindfulness and compassion-based meditation practices:

  • For individuals seeking to sustain, strengthen, and deepen a personal meditation practice;
  • For professionals seeking to bring such mindfulness and compassion-based meditation practices into their work with clients, colleagues, and students.

These mentoring sessions are for people who have already trained in mindfulness and/or compassion meditation through programs such as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) as well as similar programs and retreats.

For people who are new to these practices and are seeking a private course in MBSR or MSC, please click here.

Mentoring sessions are available at our Northampton, MA Meditation Center and online via Zoom, Facetime, and Skype.

Session fees are $100 per hour for individuals when sessions take place in our Center or online. Fees will be higher for groups and if travel is involved.

Please see below for more details.

Private Practice Mentoring sessions:

  • Are intended to support and deepen a sustainable practice that meets your needs.
  • Are suitable for anyone who has completed a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) or Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) course or a silent retreat such as those offered at the Insight Meditation Society, Spirit Rock, or by other respected centers offering in-depth and professional training in mindfulness and compassion mediation (UMass Center for Mindfulness, UCSD Center for Mindfulness, Center for Mindful Self-Compassion, and others).
  • May involve the creation of a structured practice plan with readings and other resources if the clients wants and needs it.
  • May help someone choose a suitable professional training path if they aspire to teach MBSR or MSC.
  • Are not intended to provide a license or certification to teach MBSR or MSC although these mentoring sessions will greatly support the teacher training and certification process in which a person might be engaged with UMass, UCSD and other training organizations.

Many people find it challenging to maintain a consistency and quality of practice following the completion of a course a retreat. In addition, some find it beneficial to work with a teacher or mentor over a period of time as their practices go through the inevitable ups and downs that follow natural cycles of life and common life challenges.

Professionals who are offering mindfulness practices to their clients may find it helpful to have support for their efforts.
